Find any distance to run at the track, using the marks that are already there.
Start or finish somewhere else?
Lane only matters on the bends.
At this distance you can run it all straight (starting in the chute behind the home straight) or start on the bend.

Where the numbers come from
TrackMark uses the standard 400 m track layout: 84.39 m straights, a 36.5 m inside radius, and the official hurdle and relay-zone spacing. Hurdle marks sit at 13 m then every 8.5 m (100 m hurdles), 13.72 m then every 9.14 m (110 m), and 45 m then every 35 m (300 m and 400 m). Relay zones begin 20 m before and end 10 m after each 100 m handoff point.
Start lines, 300 m and 400 m hurdle marks and relay triangles are staggered lane by lane, so another lane's mark gives your lane a different distance. TrackMark works that out by going straight across the track from the mark. It depends on lane width, so set yours under My track's paint.
A shoe length is taken as 0.3 m and a big step as 1 m. It has not measured your track. Paint colors and which marks exist vary, so check a mark with a tape or wheel the first time you rely on it.
